The Fort Scott Tribune was first published in 1884 by the Banner Publishing Company. The newspaper became a member of Rust Communications Aug. 2, 2004 and is the first Kansas property purchased by Rust. The paper is published four days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Countryside, a companion shopper, is published on Wednesdays. Fort Scott the Magazine is published every other month. Floyd Jernigan is the publisher, Tammy Helm is the editor.
